Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay?

Fees are due at the end of your appointment.  We accept major credit cards, cash, or traveler’s checks.

Do you accept health insurance?

Although most insurance companies will reimburse a portion of the visit or apply the amount to your deductible if it has not been met at this time, we do not accept insurance in the traditional sense.  We will provide you with the documentation that can be submitted to your health insurance company for reimbursement. We  do offer membership to your Personal Physician.  Membership provides you with Dr Kimes’ telephone for same day text, calls or office appointments during regular business hours.  Membership includes same day appointments in office or by telephone with no additional fees.  Membership entails a one-time sign-up fee of $499 dollars and a monthly fee of $199 dollars. There are no additional fees for service beyond monthly membership.  (Home visits not included in membership)  Membership is not offered in leiu of your regular health insurance and should be considered as a supplemental program in addition to your regular health insurance.   Personal Physician/Doctors on Wheels does not guarantee any reimbursement from your regular health insurance, many types of health insurance products exist within each individual plan.

Why don't you take insurance?

Increasingly patients are looking to work directly with their physicians without the government or insurance company in the exam room.  Because we do not participate in any insurance or plans, we are able to avoid the ever-increasing and costly documentation demands and administrative intrusions that come with accepting insurance. We also avoid the onerous patient data collection responsibilities which many plans impose. These require staff, time, and money, often amounting to substantial intrusions on patient privacy.  Because we avoid these obligations to insurance companies, we are free to spend that time listening to and treating patients. And because Personal Physician/Doctors on Wheels eliminates the significant overhead costs of participating in insurance, we can pass the savings on to you, the patient, and give compassionate, attentive and timely care at an affordable cost.  Also, if you have a PPO insurance, your insurance may reimburse you for all or part of your visit and we will provide you with documentation that you can submit to your insurance.  But, we do not guarantee any reimbursement.

Do you take Medicare?

We are non-participating providers for Medicare. We do require that all fees are paid at time of service.  And you cannot submit for reimbursement from Medicare.
